One Boston Day

April 15th marked the beginning of a new annual Boston tradition: One Boston Day. It was a celebration of the resiliency, generosity, and strength of the people that make Boston the great city it is.

Community Activities

This was a day for businesses and organizations to display their humanity and draw neighbors together. Here are a few ways the Boston community got involved:

St. Francis House
For One Boston Day, we’re collecting new and gently worn sneakers to benefit local homeless men and women.” St. Francis House

St. Francis House, the largest day shelter in New England, partnered with the Hyatt Regency Boston to help their underprivileged and homeless guests get new, clean sneakers. Footwear is one of the most in-demand and important clothing items the shelter collects.

For One Boston Day, we’re creating gift baskets of snacks for local firehouses and police stations." iBasis running group

The iBasis running group supports and encourages one another in their mission to stay active. Several of the team's runners have completed three Boston Marathons, with a fourth coming this year.
